How to care for your goggles

How to care for your goggles

Your snowboard goggles are essential kit on the mountain — when they fog up or get damaged, they can quickly ruin a day on snow. Looking after them properly will help keep your vision clear, your anti-fog coating working as intended and your lenses free from unnecessary scratches. A little care goes a long way in keeping your goggles performing properly and lasting longer.

Goggle Care & Maintenance

  • Store your goggles dry in their protective bag or case to help protect the lens and face foam.

  • Lenses scratch easily. Be careful not to let them touch any surface or place them face down.

  • Avoid using paper towel, tissues, gloves, jackets or any rough materials to clean your goggles. Use the microfibre pouch or cloth provided.

  • Never use household cleaners, sprays or chemicals on your lenses as it can damage the lens coating. Warm water and a microfibre cloth is all you need for the outside lens.

  • If you need to clean the inner lens, ensure the goggles are 100% dry and left overnight before handling. They may look dry after riding, but can still hold moisture. The anti-fog coating is especially delicate when wet.

  • Take care when changing lenses and make sure your hands are clean and dry. Using the goggle bag as a glove can help avoid touching the inner lens. If you’re unsure, our staff are happy to show you how to swap lenses properly.

  • Allow your goggles to fully air dry before storing them away long term. Avoid leaving them near heaters, drying units, dashboards or other concentrated heat sources.

  • Give your microfibre bag a wash every now and then too — a dirty cloth just moves dirt back onto the lens.

  • Damage caused by misuse or poor care may affect warranty claims. If you believe there is a fault or fogging issue, we recommend taking clear photos at the time, as these issues can be difficult to assess or replicate once the goggles have dried.

Tips To Avoid Fogging

  • Always start with dry goggles. Let them fully dry out after each use before storing, and never place them directly on a heater or drying unit.

  • Avoid resting your goggles on your forehead or beanie. Sweat and snow can get inside the goggle and cause fogging.

  • Keep the vents clear of snow and try not to block airflow with beanies, jackets or face masks.

  • Try not to tuck your balaclava or neck warmer into the bottom of the goggles. Warm breath pushed into the lens is one of the biggest causes of fogging.

  • If snow or moisture gets inside, gently shake out the excess and dab carefully if needed. Never wipe the inner lens when wet, as the anti-fog coating can be damaged.

  • Airflow is essential— moving will help dry the goggles and reduce fogging.

Storage

Proper long-term storage is one of the easiest ways to extend the life of your goggles — especially if you only get away for one or two trips each season. Before packing them away, make sure the goggles are completely dry, including the face foam and strap. Store them in their microfibre bag or protective case in a cool, dry place, not left damp in a board bag, roof box or garage where moisture and mould can build up over time. Avoid storing them near heaters or in direct sunlight as excessive heat can damage lenses, foam and anti-fog coatings. Taking a little extra care between trips will help keep your goggles clear, comfortable and ready for your next trip to the snow.

A few simple care habits can make a huge difference to how your goggles perform over time. Keeping them clean, dry and properly stored will help reduce fogging, protect the lenses and keep them functioning the way they’re designed to.
