Push Button Quick Release makes the Get OUT is as fast as the Get ON.
Whether you're looking for another layer of security in the backcountry, dealing with mobility issues, or you're smashing laps and are done with squatting down to release your back foot in that sea of ski pole tips known as the lift line, the Pro Standard Push Button Quick Release with it's convenience and safety is the answer.
It's way faster to get out. You’re pushing the board away from your foot when you release. It’s lightning fast.
If you have mobility issues, these are mandatory. You’ll save about 20cm of reaching.
Those first 2 points will add up if you ever get stuck in a compromised situation, like in a treewell, you have a much better chance of getting off of your board. They could be life saving.
They take a couple minutes to install, fit all the step ons, and yes, you can still fold down your highback.
FEATURES:
Adjustable Height Quick Release Button
The Push Button Quick Release Button can be raised or lowered to where it works best for you. In the box are 3-6mm spacers.
Compatible With Every Brand, Year, Model & Size of Step ON®
No matter what version of Step ON® that you ride, the Pro Standard Push Button Quick Release is the perfect upgrade, compatible with every size, every year, and model of Step On® from Burton, Union and Nitro.
Goofy - Left Version
Regular - Right Version
INSTALLING THE L'HIVER
Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the release lever from your binding. Hold the T-Nut at the back with your finger and install the Push Button Quick Release L'Hiver in it's place. Unlike the lever you just took off, the
Push Button Quick Release L'Hiver points back to the heel.
POSITIONING THE QUICK RELEASE STICK GUIDE
Place the stick on arm guide on your highback in a position that still allows for the push down motion that activates the release mechanism. About an inch below the end of the stick where the threads of the button screw in, is about perfect.
RELEASING YOUR BOOT
To activate the release mechanism, push down on the release button at the same time you lift the heel of your boot. Do not hold down the release button as you pull your boot out of the binding as it was designed not to release in this scenario. Simply push down, let go, and lift your heel out of your binding in one smooth motion.
RELEASING TIP
Sometimes the release can feel stiff depending on where your weight is in the binding. If you're leaning towards your toes it feels crazy stiff to the point of "This must be broken, it's not releasing!", Don't keep pressing, because you can break it like that. Shift your weight to neutral or weight more on your heels in the binding and the release will be so smooth you don't even feel it.
HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT & POSITIONING
Rotate the release button in either direction until you have it at the desired height. Perfect positioning for your Push Button Quick Release is slightly below the top of your highback. If you ride L or XL bindings, slide 1, 2 or 3 of the Strengthening Spacers over the threads and then crank it down tight when you have it stacked to just below the top of your highback. The Strengthening Spacers turn the stick and button into a solid piece with nowhere for it to flex and break. Don't use the Spacers if you ride Small or Medium bindings.
KEEPING YOUR PUSH BUTTON QUICK RELEASE SAFE
When getting on the chair be sure to have your highback folded down to avoid it get caught/crushed under the chair seat. We built the adjustability to make it fit over 80 different highbacks. The temptation is there to make it as high up as possible. Don't do it. Having it above your highback makes it vulnerable to breakage from accidentally kicking it while skating, someone stepping on it in the lift line, hooking on things as you walk or getting caught/crushed under the chair when you load. In case you're wondering... we've done all of the above while testing the prototypes. If you have small or medium bindings, you can't help have it above your highback. Screw the push button down as far as you can and you're good to go.
