Dustins choice for hard charging freestyle.
The Standard is the board that Dustin Craven chose to customise for his Pro model. Highly versatile. Do anywhere. Go Anything. Oh wait is that backwards … definitely not for Craven, as like you’ve seen on the Natural Selection Tour, he will GO anything.
From it’s younger sibling (The Standard), we beefed up the wood core with the additon of Bamboo (= stiffer flex & better dampening), and we added a lot more carbon (=better response & dampening). Dustin charges on this thing, and so can you.
Artist: Hailey Stuart
DESIGNED FOR: Intermediate - Expert / All-Mountain, Pow, Backcountry
SHAPE: Directional Volume Twin
FLEX:Stiff and powerful 9/10
BASE: Sintered
CAMBER PROFILE: Directional Camber
BINDING MOUNT: 4x2 10-pack + Slambacks
FEATURES:
Directional Volume Twin
A directional twin snowboard combines the freestyle versatility of a twin shape with a slight directional emphasis. While featuring a symmetrical shape for switch riding, it incorporates a subtle directional aspect, such as a slightly longer nose or setback stance, enhancing performance in one primary direction. This design maintains a playful feel for freestyle manoeuvres while optimising stability and control, particularly in powder or variable conditions. Ideal for riders who enjoy the park but desire enhanced performance on groomers or in specific terrains, a directional twin provides a versatile compromise between freestyle agility and directional stability.
Medium Camber
The Medium Camber is the versatile all-rounder designed for riding the whole mountain. It offers support and response when needed without being overly aggressive. This profile is perfect for riders who want a balance between performance and relaxation, allowing for both high-energy carving and leisurely cruising. The Medium Camber adapts to various riding styles and conditions, making it a reliable choice for any terrain. (4-5mm)
UnderBite
Better edge hold and easier turns. Redistributing rider weight and input power, UnderBite enhances turning ease and edge hold. By having the edge pulled in a couple of millimeters at the binding area acts like a gas pedal or a serrated knife, enhancing the cutting power of the edge. While you are turning on hard packed snow you need an insertion point to ease the edge. Then you need the edge to drive. We only have a couple inlays because once you’ve engaged your edge you are driving your turn. UnderBite allows you to have that extra leverage to apply power to the edge where you want to. From nose to tail you have a better edge control and a smoother drive. Benefits include:
Cascade core: POPLAR / PAULOWNIA + BAMBOO RAILS
The Cascade core is made from a 50% Poplar and Paulownia blend with the addition of Bamboo rails. Poplar gives it a consistent, energetic feel (flex and pop), and the lighter Paulownia keeps it strong while saving weight. The Bamboo rails add durability to the edge and assists in reducing board chatter. This combination results in a durable, responsive, and lightweight ride that can handle various conditions and riding styles.
Triax Glass
Triaxial or "Triax" fiberglass on a snowboard refers to a fiberglass construction where the fibers run in three directions— usually along the length of the board and at an angle. This configuration adds torsional stiffness to the board, enhancing its overall stability and responsiveness. Snowboards with triaxial fiberglass tend to have a more precise and controlled feel, making them suitable for riders who prioritize stability at higher speeds, improved edge hold, and better performance in challenging conditions. Triax fiber is often found in snowboards designed for advanced and aggressive riding styles.
Carbon 2 V2 Stringers
Introducing Carbon 2 V2: True biaxial aerospacial carbon fiber stringers create a dynamic V-shape extending from the front and back insert packs to the board’s contact points. This V design enhances binding response, increases torsional stiffness, and ensures exceptional stability, in deep snow and in the park. Carbon fiber’s remarkable strength-to-weight ratio guarantees responsive stiffness, improved control, pop, and energy transfer. Perfect for aggressive riding and precise maneuvers, Carbon 2 V2 delivers superior performance and responsiveness in all direction, for landings and carving.
Sintered Base
Sintered bases are crafted by fusing tiny polyethylene particles under heat and pressure, creating a porous, durable surface. Known for superior speed and wax absorption, these bases are favoured by advanced riders for their high-performance capabilities in various snow conditions.
SlamBack Inserts
SlamBack is a versatile insert pattern with 5 rows of 2 inserts at 2cm from each other vertically and 4cm horizontally. With the addition of 2 inserts set 4cm back vertically. This industry standard pattern allows you to find the perfect stance you need. The SlamBack inserts are there for those unexpected powder days and allow you to slam your bindings back by 4cm and give you that directional feel and extra float to your board.
